Singer-Songwriter Collaboration

Having grown up with Maddie Brindle in Suffolk, I am incredibly grateful to be collaborating with her on my films. A voice that still ceases to amazing me, her slow and romantic style takes me back to a time of old-fashioned romance and chivalry.

Frequently Asked Questions ~ London Wedding Videographers

What is a London Wedding Videographer?

The primary goal of a London Wedding Videographer should be capture the essence of your day through film and storytelling. A top wedding vidoegrapher will do their best to get to know a couple and their dynamic, producing a film to match this energy. As with any service in London though, there are going to be lots of people offering seemingly very similar services. So where would I start if I was looking to hire a London Wedding Videographer? The first thing I would recommend is checking if the videographer is based in London. This is especially important if parts of your big day are in different areas of the city. Being able to navigate your way around London and knowing where the best spots are for your couple’s shoot, I’ve found to be incredibly useful.

As a London Wedding Videographer, I’ve also made a conscious effort to make my equipment as light and portable as possible. Being able to fit all my equipment into one bag means I can be dynamic and reactive to any timing changes throughout the day (because no wedding has ever gone exactly to plan!)

How much does a London Wedding Videographer cost?

Whilst every videographer ultimate dictates the prices they set for their videography, there are some key factors that can determine the price of hiring a wedding videographer. The biggest and not surprisingly is experience and reputation. Hiring an experienced videographer means you can have the peace of mind that the priceless moments of your wedding are being captured, something you don’t want to nervous about on your big day!

The second is where your videographer is based. If your videographer isn’t based in or around London, it’s likely they will charge extra for travel and accommodation (anyone that knows London will understand you can’t risk getting into London on the morning of a wedding!)

A third important factor is the number of videographers on the day. I film almost all my weddings on my own as I like to be discreet and find I get the best footage when no one notices I’m there. It also keeps the cost down for my couples!

The final important factor is what package options you choose. All videographers have slightly varying package options, sometimes making it hard to compare like-for-like. To give you an example, you can find pricing for all my individual package options and my popular wedding packages here.

What is the typical process for booking a London Wedding Videographer?

Most videographers would as ask for a deposit upon completion of a contract, with the remaining amount paid before the wedding. Below is an example of my booking process:

    • I personally always like to have a call with a couple before booking with them to make sure we are a good fit for each other.
    • If we then proceed, I’ll send over a contract and ask for a deposit of £200, with the remaining balance to be paid anytime up until four weeks before the week.

Can I have drone footage in my wedding film if I am getting married in London?

There isn’t a straightforward answer to this question sadly, it completely depends where in London you are getting married. As a registered drone operator with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), I can fly my drone in ‘fly zones’ approved by the CAA.

Many areas in central London are ‘no fly zones’, but I love capturing vast shots of the London skyline in some of London’s most-loved parks when I can (Richmond Park is my favourite!). As a general rule, if you are getting married on a private estate, I will most likely be able to fly my drone. It is much harder flyer in public spaces in and around Central London.

Do you film weddings for different cultures?

Yes, absolutely! One of the aspects I love best about being a London Wedding Videographer is being able to experience cultures and traditional celebrations from all over the world. Advice I’d give to anyone looking for a London Wedding Videographer would be to research videographer styles to find one that suits you best as a couple. I capture moments in a very unobtrusive and authentic style, whereas other videographers and production companies can produce more fast-paced, production-style films. It just depends on your preference!

How long does it take a Wedding Videographer to edit a wedding film?

Wait times can vary greatly depending on the Videographer, but the industry standard is between three to six months. Because I only take on a limited number of weddings each year, my turnaround time is usually three months, but I also offer a teaser film that is delivered up to one week after your wedding.

Do Wedding Videographers give you the raw footage from your wedding?

Some videographers don’t offer raw footage as they like to keep creative licence over their footage. But I personally like to offer footage to my couples as we can’t include all footage captured on the day in your final wedding film! If you are wanting more of the candid/behind-the-scene shots in your final film, I would recommend choosing a Documentary Film over a Highlights Film. As it’s longer in length, I have more room to include these types of shots in a film.
